Not Exactly The Model Prayer…

We have a special prayer service at our church every Wednesday night. My 4-year-old son Brandon has been attending this prayer service since before he was born.

It’s no wonder he’s picked up a few of my prayer traits over the years.

Usually, if I finish praying before my prayer partner finishes, I usually say words of adoration to the Lord – like “Thank You Lord” or “I Love You Lord” or “You Are An Awesome God.”

Well – this past Wednesday, Brandon decided to pray with my prayer partner and I. The three of us were holding hands and apparently Brandon finished before we did because as I was ending my prayer I heard Brandon saying….

“Thank You Lord Jesus”
“Thank You Lord Jesus”
“H – I – J – K – L – M – N – O – P”
“Thank You Lord Jesus”
“Thank You Lord Jesus”
“Q – R – S – T – U – V – W – X – Y – Z”
“In Jesus name, Amen.”

Well, like I said, it’s not exactly The Model Prayer – but it was his own personal prayer to to the Lord.

In my imagination, I see Jesus smiling as He listened to my precious son thank him in the midst of his ABCs.

Increasing in Him,
Chanda
