Peace, Be Still…
After Vacation Bible School, I asked my 2 oldest boys what they’d learned.
So my oldest son starts to tell me about Jesus walking on the water and Peter asking if he could come out to walk on the water too.
Just then, Brandon jumped in and cut Bralon off and said ”And Jesus told Peter, peace - be still.”
I looked at him sort of puzzled for a second because he was standing up with his arms outstretched and he had this big smile that said, yep, I remembered my VBS lesson too.
He seemed a little heartbroken when I told him he’d gotten the stories mixed up.
I told him the difference between the two stories and he seemed ok. But he still had a point to make.
He said, “Yeah mommie, but Jesus did say peace, be still” with the same hand gesters again.
I told him yes, Jesus did say “Peace, be still.”
He nodded like that was all he needed to know.
